Testbook, an education technology startup, has today raised an undisclosed amount of funding from venture capital firm Matrix Partners India.
The company will now be using the newly raised funding for geographic and product expansion. Ashutosh Kumar, chief executive of the company, said,
We are a one-stop solution for students who take government jobs. The past three-four years, most of these exams have moved from offline to online. The online exam has become a hurdle for students who are from tier-II and tier-III cities. It has been more than three years since we started. We are providing test prep for more than 30 exams which happen throughout the year.
With this round of funding, we will be focusing on growth and improving our product. Currently, we also want to focus on online and offline activation across the northern part of India.
Founded by a team of IIT graduates, the company leverages technology to make preparation for government jobs tests more efficient, accessible and affordable.
It also provides mock tests for SBI PO, SSC CGL, IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, LIC AAO, and Railways, among other aptitude preparation. Testbook’s content can be accessed through its website, mobile apps or offline test centres in some cities.
Earlier, in March last year, the company raised an undisclosed amount in funding from education content provider S Chand & Co Pvt. Ltd. In 2014, the firm secured Rs 1.5 crore through LetsVenture, an online platform that connects startups with investors, and ah! Ventures.
