MSG91, a startup which provides enterprise SMS solution, has acquired ToSMS, a mobile messaging service provider, for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition is a part of the company’s strategy of acquiring companies that have technologies they can build as a part of the fabric of the company. Post-acquisition, the acquired startup – ToSMS will be will be integrated with MSG91 and will operate under it.
ToSMS was founded by Manas Chowdhury in 2013. The web-based portal of the company provided consumers with community and personalised services that included SMS and Voice.

MSG91 was founded by Pushpendra Agrawal, Shubhendra Agrawal, and Ankita Agrawal in 2010. It works as a communication bridge between organisations by providing them enterprise messaging solutions. It provides several tools and add-ons to send bulk SMS.
In an official statement, the company’s co-founder Pushpendra Agrawal, said, “As far as competition goes, there are three-four major players in India – Gupshup, Route SMS, Solutions Infini. But they have a very different model. We are all contributing to improving the SMS scene here, in India.”
The company currently claims to have a client base of more than 14,300 and are operational in India and 192 countries worldwide.
