OyBob, an online marketplace for local services and on-demand deliveries, has today raised angel funding from Sachin Dala, co-founder of eCommerce company Infibeam.com.
With the new funding, the company will be adding more vendors on its platform and will also increase its application adoption. It will soon raise another funding round to open its business to other cities.
Currently operating in Delhi and NCR region only, the company has been working on customer and vendor feedback. The application aims to provide location-based and on-demand discovery experience on mobile to its aggregated customer base.
Founded in October 2015, OyBob is a discovery app for local services and products. It is an entire hyperlocal solution with a full stack backend operations’ solution for vendors to automate and execute their backend processes by themselves. It provides location-based and on-demand discovery experience on mobile to its aggregated customer base.
Sachin Dala, who invested in the company, said, “OyoBob want to bring real business value to local vendors in this era of mobility and eCommerce and to build a profitable pure play technology platform business. It is similar to Amazon’s Webstore but for on-demand local services, local products and online-only home based businesses.”
As per an industry estimate, the local services market of India is estimated to be worth $100 billion. In this space, the company competes with UrbanPro which recently raised $2 million in funding, along with other players such as FindYahan, Housejoy, etc.
